Coordinator of Gift Planning – Institutional Advancement/Gift Planning

Summary

  • Cultivate and leverage effective membership support of St. John’s University and its chapters via the McCallen Society Ambassador program. The Coordinator is responsible for the performance and success of events in order to meet revenue, awareness and participant goals.

Essential Job Functions

  • This person will mobilize and lead volunteers and execute multiple events according to our timeline and best practices with accountability for revenue goals, as well as event related awareness, mission and advocacy goals.
  • Execute overall plan for events. This includes recruitment and retention; promotion and marketing activities, communications and all event logistics.
  • Prepare and distribute communications to volunteers and donors – via email, print and telephone.
  • Assist research to uncover new gift planning prospects.
  • Meet and communicate regularly with the Director and other staff to share updates, assess progress and coordinate centralized tasks.
  • Prepare reports and provide information as requested and required; oversee project budgets and maintain financial records for events.
  • Provide support to overall operations of events as assigned including the customer service to constituents; database mining and management; donor/sponsor/advocate relations and communications
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • BA or BS degree or similar in business/sales/marketing or related field.
  • Excellent proven interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to train, manage, guide and motivate colleagues and volunteers to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to plan and work independently.
  • Superior organizational and communication skills.
  • Working as a member of a team, the Coordinator is an enthusiastic, organized, self-motivated person who will oversee all aspects of events as assigned from start to finish.
  • Candidate must be able to exercise excellent judgment, accept responsibility, and give careful attention to details.
  • Must be skilled in multiple software programs and be willing to learn and excel in donor software systems. Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications with the ability to present with poise, confidence and professionalism to diverse committees.
  • Be able to work under stress and be flexible where there are high expectations for meeting tight deadlines and for producing work that is accurate.
  • Must develop working knowledge about Gift Planning..
  • Must be a team player.
