Key Dates for Graduate Faculty & Students 2017-2018

Fall 2017

September 18 Monday: Final oral examinations (defense) for all candidates for doctoral degrees in September 2017 to have been held by this date. Students defending before 9/18 must register for “maintaining matriculation.”

September 22 Friday: Final copies of dissertations and theses must be submitted to the Dean’s Office for September 2017 graduation by this date. Microfilm fee to be paid at this time.

October 5 Thursday: Readers’ copies of doctoral dissertations and master’s theses for degrees in January 2018 to be submitted to the department chair by this date.

October 16 Monday: Last day to submit coursework for spring and summer 2017 incomplete grades.

November 3 Friday: Final oral examinations (defense) for all candidates for doctoral degrees in January 2018 to have been held by this date.

November 17 Friday: Dissertation and thesis copies due in Dean’s Office for review for January 2018 degree conferral.

December 15 Friday: Final copies of dissertations and theses must be submitted to the Dean’s Office for January 2018 graduation by this date. Microfilm fee to be paid at this time.

 

Spring 2018

January 23 Tuesday: final deadline for dissertation defense for students “Maintaining Matriculation” in spring 2018 (for spring degree conferral). Students defending later in semester must register for 1-credit ENG 975

February 7 Wednesday: Last day to apply for spring comprehensive examinations.

March 15 Thursday: Last day to submit coursework for fall 2017 incomplete grades.

April 6 Friday: Final oral examinations (defense) for all candidates for doctoral degrees in May 2018 to have been held by this date.

April 27 Friday: Dissertation and thesis copies due in Dean’s Office for review for May 2018 degree conferral.

May 4 Friday: Final copies of dissertations and theses must be submitted to the Dean’s Office for May 2018 graduation by this date. Microfilm fee to be paid at this time.
