This annual competition honors the late Cortland Auser, long time NAES Board member and Book Review Editor for early NAES publications, for his lifelong commitment and contributions to the interdisciplinary field of Ethnic Studies.

Paper Requirements
1.  Student must currently be enrolled in school;
2.  Only papers accepted for the current year NAES Annual Conference are eligible for this award;
3.  10—15 pages including work cited references;
4.  MLA or APA format, 12 point font, double‐spaced, 1″ margins;
5.  A demonstration of originality, creativity, and a contribution to the field of Ethnic Studies;
6.  Papers written for class requirements are welcomed if consistent with NAES conference theme;
7.  Co‐authored papers will not be accepted.
Nomination and supporting documentation must be received on or before February 15, 2013. Please send completed nomination to dariza@ethnicstudies.org

Award Details
Each recipient will receive:
• A complimentary meal at the Awards Luncheon awarded at the National Association for Ethnic Studies Annual Conference
• A complimentary one‐year NAES student membership
• A framed certificate from NAES
• A $200 honorarium, awarded at the National Association for Ethnic Studies Annual Conference
• Review for possible publication in the Ethnic Studies Review
