“The Rhetoric of Experience: Learning to Navigate Discursive Worlds in Flux”

Dr. Guerra explained to some St. John’s grad students about what takes place in writing classrooms, post his talk in DAC. The students raised questions about how to navigate issues that are centered in socio-cultural spheres of learning environments, as well as developing individual frameworks for how they envision themselves as writing instructors. The larger conversation was focused on personal attempts to connect the student communities within the classrooms to notions of belonging, to make writing move across difference. We were very happy to have Dr. Guerra visit and offer his insight and experiences teaching in the diverse writing classroom.
