Sigma Tau Delta is a national English honors society for graduate and undergraduate students.  The local chapter of Sigma Tau Delta at St John’s gives students opportunities to be acknowledged for their high achievement in English, as well as participate in some service as well as social opportunities.  This year’s chapter presidents are Lexi Bennett and Suzanne Monteverdi, and they are in the process of planning several events for the coming year, including a faculty talk and an open mic night.

Great news!  The application process if fairly simple. Please find attached the application for graduate students; please note the requirements as well as dates for applying and accepting membership.  If you are interested, the first date to keep in mind in applying is MONDAY OCTOBER 22ND, 2015.  This is the deadline for submitting applications to the faculty adviser in the English department:  Dr. Amy King, St John Hall B-11.

Please feel free to be in touch if you have any questions about the application, membership, or what Sigma Tau Delta is all about. Lexi and Suzanne are also happy to answer your questions (tianna.bennett12@stjohns.edu, suzanne.monteverdi12@stjohns.edu).   The department looks forward to reviewing your application!

P.S. – Applications are accepted every fall.  For new graduate students, you may apply next fall once you have matriculated and obtained some St. John’s grades.  It is important to have completed courses with a SJT GPA.  Students are inducted once a year, in fall.
