Welcome back to Spring 2025!
Here’s a doctoral-level job opportunity for our grad stduents –
The Program in Writing and Critical Inquiry at the University at Albany, SUNY, seeks 2 full-time lecturers to begin Fall Semester of 2025. We are looking for candidates with expertise in teaching English language learners, with one of these lines being someone with Spanish language fluency. Lines are 3-year renewable with opportunities for promotion. We are also seeking to increase cultural diversity in our program, so we strongly encourage applicants from under-represented backgrounds.
We welcome applicants in disciplines other than composition and rhetoric or English. UAlbany strives to be an engine of upward mobility for a diverse student body and was recently awarded both the Seal of Excelencia and a $2.5 million grant to pioneer new, more inclusive approaches to teaching STEM disciplines.
The course load is 3/4, with a likely release from 1 course/year to assist with professional development opportunities as assigned by the program director. Lecturers teach the Seminar in Writing and Critical Inquiry (WCI), a required general education course designed to introduce students to college-level critical inquiry, with an emphasis on the intensive practice of writing in academic and other contexts, and implement inclusive strategies that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
For more about WCI, visit www.albany.edu/wci.
Review of applications will begin on January 29, 2025.
