Spring 2013 Internship Opportunity – Development and Fundraising
Only Make Believe (OMB) is a non-profit organization that creates and performs interactive theatre for children in hospitals and care facilities.
Only Make Believe invites a motivated and enthusiastic college student (grad or undergrad) to work directly with the Development Director, in a semester-long internship focused on development and fundraising. This experience will encompass individual donors, corporate sponsorship, foundation grants and special events. Potential projects include researching and identifying potential funding sources, writing grant proposals, prospect research, database management, assisting with planning and strategy for special fundraising & cultivation events (including the TD Five Boro Bike Tour/Team OMB and our Young Professionals event series) as well as other opportunities.
The internship lasts from January 7 – May 31 (dates and schedule flexible), 14-20 hours per week.
Skills:
- Highly motivated
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Computer literate and internet savvy
- Self-directed but willing to work as part of a team
- An interest in theatre, youth, and/or health care
