Tenure Track Assistant Professor Positions – Southern University and A&M College

Southern University and A&M College’s Department of Languages and Literature is conducting searches for three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions this Fall. While these vacancies are generalist positions, we are requesting preferences for British Literature, Linguistics, African American Literature, and Composition/Rhetoric.

Southern University and A&M College is the largest historically black college or university in Louisiana, a member-school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and the flagship institution of the Southern University System. Located on the Mississippi River in Baton Rouge, Southern is also home to the Southern University Law Center.

We are accepting applications for 9-month positions beginning in August of 2023. ABDs will be considered, contingent upon Ph.D. completion by June of 2023. Applicants should include a cover letter, CV, unofficial transcripts, a sample syllabus that reflects their expertise, and the names of three recommenders.
