Donna Downing

Donna Downing is a doctoral student and adjunct instructor at St. John’s University, where she teaches Literature in a Global Context (ENG 1100C) and First Year Writing (FYW 1000C). Before returning to graduate study, Donna was a content manager with the Walt Disney Internet Group in San Jose, California. Prior to that, she worked as a literary agent in New York City, negotiating trade publishing contracts and international translations for works of fiction and non-fiction. Donna’s dissertation research investigates ways in which literature and print culture from the long eighteenth century inform contemporary writing studies theory and praxis.
