The National Women’s Studies Association is pleased to announce a new complimentary conference registration policy for the upcoming 2017 conference 40 YEARS AFTER COMBAHEE: Feminist Scholars and Activists Engage the Movement for Black Lives which will be held November 16-19, 2017 in Baltimore, Maryland. The annual conference regularly draws nearly 2,000 attendees and is the largest meeting in North America exclusively dedicated to featuring the latest feminist scholarship.

Baltimore City residents: Baltimore City residents can receive complimentary general conference registration. Please see the criteria here.
This policy expands on longstanding complimentary registration opportunities, which include:
Individuals at nonprofit organizations with budgets under $250,000
First Nations/Indigenous Peoples
Attendees from countries on the World Bank’s low-income and lower middle-income economies lists.

The goal of NWSA complimentary registration policies is to advance the organization’s commitment to an inclusive vision of feminist scholarship and praxis; to promoting critical engagement with and dialogue about the transformative field of women’s and gender studies; and to fostering conversation among faculty, students, women’s centers, other campus organizations, and community scholars and activists.
