M.A from C.U.N.Y City College in English Literature with a focus in Comparative Literature
Anastasia is currently a first-year Ph.D. student at St.Johns University. She attended Hunter College for her undergraduate program where she majored in English Literature and had a focus in Creative Writing as well as a minor in Russian Language. In 2020 she graduated with her Master’s in Comparative Literature from City College where she studied Slavic folklore and the pagan symbols behind many folk stories, specifically focusing on what different birds had represented. At St John’s University, she is hoping she can dive into the world of Children’s Book translating to see how cultural the shift can be while dealing with translating a culture, idioms, and more. As an immigrant from Ukraine, she feels that translation is naturally a work of art that has to be admired.
