A possible afternoon job for English majors:

I was told to contact your office to try to your students employment at our agency.   The Greater Ridgewood Youth Council is a non- profit community based organization that services young people through our after school programs throughout Queens.

We are looking for staff for our Junior High School after school programs located in various locations in Queens.  We are looking for current students or graduate students from your department who can help us facilitate the following activities to junior high school students (grades 6-8) to teach and work with our students in the following activities:

Literacy

Creative Writing

Poetry Writing

Book club

The staffers are called activity specialists and they would work with a group of supervised students.  It is the responsibility of the activity specialist to have enough ideas and concepts to keep the kids engaged with the activity.

Those interested in working would have to send us a resume, come in for an interview and be able to work Monday – Friday from 2:30pm – 5:00pm.  Our programs operate from September 2014 – June 2015.

WE HAVE MULTIPLE SITES THAT ARE IN NEED OF ACTIVITY SPECIALISTS!!

I would like to thank you in advance for your assistance in helping us provide for our young people.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 718-456-5437 ext. 228.
