4/22: Dr. Elda Tsou’s Bookmarks Event: Unquiet Tropes

This weekend was a full and exciting one for St. John’s English scholarship and intellectual conversation. On Friday, April 22, the night before our PhD launch and Graduate Student conference, we had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Elda Tsou talk more about her new book, Unquiet Tropes: Form, Race, and Asian American Literature (Temple University Press, 2015).

The talk was a part of the department’s “Bookmarks” series which features conversations with our faculty about their books. Dr. Dohra Ahmad gave introductory remarks and Drs. Raj Chetty and Tsou had a lively conversation about Unquiet Tropes and its interventions, followed by a robust Q&A from the 40+ person audience in attendance at SJU’s Astor Place campus in Manhattan.

The evening concluded with food, drinks, and more conversation.
