EVENT @ SJU SI: “Betwixt and Between: Black Communities and City Neighborhoods in 19th Century NYC

From Dr. Bob Fanuzzi: “Sandy Ground at St. John’s:  Faces of the Underground Railroad” is a public humanities and educational outreach program of St. John’s Staten Island campus.  Created in partnership with Sandy Ground Historical Society and supported by the New York Council for the Humanities, the programs and lectures celebrate the past, present, and future of diversity on Staten Island.

We would love to see our faculty and students at our two upcoming lectures.  On September 15, we’re proud to be hosting Dr. Carla Peterson, one of the nation’s leading African-American studies scholars, on our campus.
