Tess Patalano:
Tess Patalano is from Long Island/Queens, New York. She is in her dissertation writing phase and joined because she loves to read and write! So far in the Graduate portion of her studies, Tess has “gained friends, mentors, and the knowledge I need to break boundaries.” Some of her favorite genres are Anthropocene, hydrofeminist, posthumanism, and transcorporeality.

Rebecca Trumino from Queens, NY, is Currently ABD. According to Rebecca, “Chapters are written and in the editing process, which is taking longer than expected!” Rebecca joined the program because she loved teaching at the college level and wants to do it full-time. In her time at St. John’s, she’s developed a deeper understanding of faculty and the amount of work full-timers do. Also, how much the faculty cares about their students. Rebecca’s favorite genres include Contemporary literary fiction, Memoirs (by comedians, mostly), LGBTQIA+ fiction, Postcolonial theory, Humor theory, the immigrant experience, and the child of immigrants’ first-generation experience.
