Internship available: La Femme Latina

For interesting writers and a social media developer,

We are pleased to offer various internship positions with La Femme Latina, a bold online magazine where everyone is Latino, to begin immediately. This is a great and unique opportunity for all to expand horizons, acquire mentorships and networking experiences.

We are looking for interns who are passionate and excited to build something big for the community. They will be an integral part of our team and help with building the brand through their writing and social media push. This is an IDEAL internship for someone who wants to be part of a small team, get ingrained in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and is a total self-starter.

Responsibilities include:
Internship Title: Writers (various positions available) and Social Media (1 position available).

Start date: ASAP after training session End date: September 2013, but flexible

Number of hours: various but no more than 20 per week

Location for internship: New York, preferred but not required

Writers Responsibilities: Your duties include writing weekly articles for La Femme, as well as other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time.

Supervisor for internship:

Arlene Garcia, Lead Editor

Social Media Responsibilities: You will research relevant and inspiring stories and articles (i.e. collaboration, events management, making things happen as a community, task management, to-do lists, ordinary everyday people who collaborate to do extraordinary things) and use research as blog materials or share links via social media. Post content on social media platforms and engage with followers by tweet and re-tweet inspiring works. Also, systematically monitor and respond to user feedback and comments. Acquire and integrate industry knowledge related to current trends, emerging technologies, and competitors’ solutions.

Bruna Payne, Creative and Technology Lead Internship stipend: Credit only, unpaid internship

Must Haves:

– Excellent interpersonal skills, independent work style, minimum supervision, ability to take direction – Proficient with social media
– Strong research, writing and communications skills, a firm grasp of grammar
– Resourceful and persistent – you can multi-task and you can get things done

– Affinity for keeping information organized and tracking details. – Enjoy meeting and talking with new people
– Ability to work 15-20 hrs/week
