Sal is a second-year graduate student whose interests include creative writing, film studies, and political theories in narrative stories, particularly the Communist message in American literature and cinema. He also earned his bachelor’s degree from St. John’s, majoring in English while minoring in film studies, and competed as a member of the school’s division one fencing team.

Sal is a published writer, having authored articles published by College Magazine and a short story expected to be printed in an issue of Sequoya. He also works as a graduate assistant with the SJU division of the Liberty Partnership Program, an effort organized and funded by the New York State Department of Education. In his GA role, Sal works to help the LPP succeed in its goal of helping children struggling in high school to graduate and get into college.
