M.A English, St. John’s University 2022
Hello! My name is Selines Sanchez and I am currently completing my Master’s degree in English as apart of the B.A/M.A degree program at St.John’s University. My areas of interest include critical race theory, creative writing, literature in a global context, and Latin American Studies. I am currently conducting research examining the effects of white identification on Latin Americans and exploring what “Limpiar la Raza” (cleaning the race) might mean today in the 21st century amongst U.S. born and immigrant Dominicans. I’ve presented this research at the annual McNair Scholars research conference and am currently pursuing the project as my M.A Thesis. Aside from writing academically, I also free-write on various creative topics and have published over 15 articles in College Magazine.
I currently work as a Graduate Assistant for the English Department serving as a research assistant for Dr.Combs and a co-organizer of the student graduate conference.
