3 Tenure Track Positions Open at Ball State University

The English Department at Ball State University is conducting a tenure-track search for three separate Professors in African American Literature, TESOL/Linguistics, and Rhet/Comp/Writing Director positions.

Position One in African American Literature: Assistant Professor of English will develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in African American literature and African American Studies; publish peer-reviewed research in area(s) of specialization; and contribute to the major, minor, and graduate degrees in English and to the minor in African American Studies.

Position Two in TESOL/Linguistics: Ball State University’s Department of English invites applications for a tenure-track position in TESOL and applied linguistics available August 2023. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in linguistics and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), advising MA research projects, engaging in departmental and university service, working with local schools and community partners, and collaborating across departments and colleges at Ball State that support teacher training.

Position Three in Rhet/Comp/Writing Director: The Department of English is seeking a tenure-track faculty member to begin in August 2023. We are seeking an Assistant Professor in Rhetoric and Composition to direct our Writing Center, contribute to our graduate programs (MA & Ph.D.), and teach in our undergraduate major in professional writing.
