Conference Funding

There’s a plethora of conferences scheduled in the next few months. If there’s a CV-worthy conference that students or junior faculty would love to attend to present an important paper (and present their unique potential as a scholar) but they lack the funds, have them look into the Conference & Research Grant from the Institute for Humane Studies.

This award provides up to $750 to graduate students (and untenured junior faculty) to cover travel costs, conference fees, and other career and academically-related expenses like:

  • Presentations at academic or professional conferences
  • Travel to academic job interviews on a campus or at professional/academic conferences
  • Submission of unpublished manuscripts to journals or book publishers
  • Expenses associated with trips to archives to collect additional research data

Quick turnaround for funds!

Applications for the IHS Conference and Research Grant are considered on a rolling basis and should be submitted at least four weeks in advance of your fundable activity.

IHS provides funding and resources like the Conference & Research Grant because we believe that ideas like free speech, individual liberty, and economic freedom have the power to change the world for the better. We also believe that current and future scholars are in the best position to develop and spread the ideas that will create a more peaceful, prosperous future.
