Noelle Marie Nagales is a Filipino-American contemporary novelist and the author of “The way we love.” Born in Santa Clara, CA and raised in Queens, New York, Noelle’s creative work primarily focuses on existentialist fiction—inspired by prose poetry and Japanese Literature. Her first manuscript received “The Dortort Family Undergraduate Prize in Creative Writing” for the most accomplished body of work in 2015, with her short stories later published in various magazines.

She is currently an Assistant Adjunct Professor at the City College of New York and Baruch College, where she teaches English Composition and Creative Writing—while also pursuing her PhD in English, Comparative Literature at St. John’s University. Her research seeks to investigate the thematic relationship between the individual and society, not only within contemporary Japanese Literature as an isolated genre but as an emerging subgenre of existential fiction as well.
