St John’s Writing Center Consultant wins NEWCA fellowship

Some good news during the snowstorm!

Princess Ikatekit, a Writing Center consultant and Graduate Fellow in the MA program, has recently been awarded a competitive scholarship from the Northeastern Writing Centers Association.

Writing about her multi-linguistic and multicultural work as a WC tutor at St. John’s, Princess won the award for her combination of scholarship, pedagogy, and acute observation of the institutions in which she (and we) live and work. We’re very pleased to have her representing the University in winning this scholarship, and in presentations this spring at the NEWCA conference and the CCCC conference.NEWCA Pic
