Tess Patalano

Tess Patalano is a first-year English Ph.D. student at St. John’s University. Her research interests include Poetry, Gender and Queer Theory, Creative Writing, the Anthropocene, Transnational Feminism, and Human-Animal Studies. She was born and raised in New York City.  She attended Hamilton College where she received a B.A. in Creative Writing. While at Hamilton, she studied abroad in Perugia, Italy. After graduating, she worked for Scholastic Inc. in Manhattan as an Editorial Assistant for Parent and Child Magazine. She has since taught at Ansan University in South Korea, Hawaii, Africa, and several other locations.  She has published many poems and wrote a chapbook entitled “What Happened” (dancing girl press). Tess is an enthusiastic scuba diving poet.
