Generous support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York has extended the African Humanities Program for two more years, 2016-17 and 2017-18. The heart of the program will continue to be competition cycles for Dissertation-completion Fellowships and Postdoctoral Fellowships. These will be the final AHP fellowship competitions.
November 2, 2016 is the deadline for fellowship applications for this year.
We urge all who are eligible to apply. Women are especially encouraged to apply, not only for fellowships but also for associated activities.
Each competition cycle will include
• Dissertation-completion fellowships
• Postdoctoral fellowships for research and writing
• Residencies for research and writing at African institutes for advanced study
• Manuscript development workshops for AHP Fellows
• An open call to AHP Fellows for submission of manuscripts to the African Humanities Series
Detailed information on the fellowship competitions and associated activities is available on the AHP page of the American Council of Learned Societies website: https://www.acls.org/programs/ahp/. The application materials will be available by August 2016.
Inquiries are welcome to AHP@acls.org.
