Call for Papers: Transnational Cultural Studies

The Graduate English Organization, along with the Department of English invites graduate students to submit abstracts for the 2013 Shifting Tides, Anxious Borders Graduate Conference on Transnational Cultural Studies.  This years conference will occur on April 19th and 20th.  Columbia University Professor Branka Arsic will be delivering the keynote.

This year’s roundtable discussion will be held on Saturday, April 20th . The panel will include our keynote speaker, Branka Arsic, along with Binghamton University professors Susan Strehle, William Spanos, Praseeda Gopinath, and William Haver. The panel will discuss the past, present, and future of transnational studies, and participate in an extended question-and-answer period with the audience.

This years theme, “Historicizing Difference in Global Subjectivities”, hopes to draw on interdisciplinary methods to answer questions of the emergence and fluctuations of identities over time.  Please see the attached document for more information.

500 word abstracts are due March 1st, 2013.
