As the new semester looms, we at St. John’s English are excited to announce that our PhD student Tabitha Benitez has just completed her doctoral defense!
Dr. Benitez’s dissertation, “Becoming American (?): An Auto-Ethnographic Inquiry of an Ecuadorian (-American) Family’s Identity Formation in the Face of Long Island Whiteness,” was directed by her mentor Dr. Steven Alvarez, and committee members Dr. Dohra Ahmad and Dr. Anne Geller, whose smiling faces you can see here!
Congrats to Dr. Benitez! A great start to the semester already!
