Financial Assistance for Attending MLA Convention

“As part of its mission to support the professional development of humanities scholars of all ranks and backgrounds, the MLA offers several types of financial assistance to prospective and current members.”

The Modern Language Association (MLA) is hosting its annual convention in January 2022, and they are offering a selection of grants and various types of assistance for those who are attending or are planning on attending the convention next year.

For graduate students, the Elective Council has decided to give a $400 reimbursement for current MLA members, who will travel to the annual MLA convention to attend pre-convention workshops, sessions in their areas of scholarly interest, meetings with job counselors, or interviews. This reimbursement is only available once during the student’s graduate studies. Application is open until December 1, 2021.
