Interested in teaching online?

St. John’s offers certification in online and distance learning for faculty and graduate students. To become certified, you must either apply to become certified based on previous experience, or complete an online course in Distance Learning Pedagogy I.

There are two application periods in Fall and Spring semesters, if you have prior experience. Application deadlines for Fall semester are September 15, with a decision rendered by October 8, and November 1, with a decision rendered by November 22. Similarly for Spring, the first application deadline is February 7, with a decision by March 1, and April
1, with a decision by May 1.

Registration is now open for the course in Distance Learning Pedagogy I. Detailed information on the course can be found here. The course will last six weeks and requires approximately three to four hours per week of online participation.
