ABOUT US
We are part of the Scout.com network and affiliated with CBS Sports, and we’ve been covering the Yankees since 2001. We cover the prospects and minor leagues of the New York Yankees and we’re looking for sports writing interns to help us cover the Staten Island Yankees this season. I see you are the internship coordinator for St. John’s.
ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
The internship would include attending the home games of the Staten Island Yankees minor league baseball games, interviewing various players and coaches, and writing feature articles. It is an unpaid internship but several of our former interns have gone on to bigger and better things because of their internship experience with us, not to mention they’ve had the opportunity to meet players that went on to become big leaguers [like Aaron Judge, Greg Bird, and a host of other current big league players].
One former intern, Kelli Polson, a former student at the University of South Florida, now works for the national Fox News channel. Another former intern, Frankie Piliere, went on to become a scout for the Texas Rangers before becoming the lead prospect analyst for AOL Fanhouse and Fox Sports, and is now the national cross-checker for Perfect Game.
