Congrats to Sammantha McCalla on her incredible comp exam defense covering a range of topics on Caribbean childhood, literature, postcolonial theory, Afropessimissim, and colonial education. Her committee members, Drs. Raj Chetty and Anne Gellar, as well as her Mentor, Dr. Shante Smalls, were stunned by her robust and profound work. We look forward to reading her dissertation!
